BREWOOD CHILDREN UNITE TO REMEMBER
THE REAL MEANING OF EASTER
Three hundred children came together in Brewood to wave palm leaves and share Easter goodies as they learned about the real meaning of Holy Week.
St Dominic’s Brewood hosted the event for youngsters throughout the village, with pupils from St Mary and St Chad CE First School, Brewood Middle and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School and members of St Mary’s and St Chad’s Church and St Mary’s RC Church joining in.
Samantha Kirwan, head of preparatory school at St Dominic’s, said: “The children were dressed in coloured T-shirts to become a human rainbow.
“They waved palm leaves and shared Easter biscuits together.
“There were songs, readings, re-enactments and prayers to remember the events of Holy Week.
“It was a really enjoyable event that allowed the community to get together to remember an important event in the Christian calendar.”
